-Dr. JILL BOLTE TAYLOR -
This Page is dedicated to the energy and consciousness generated by the profound wisdom of Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor. We must state however, although her work parallels the concept of KTI, this in no way should imply that she endorses or supports everything on this site. Not only through studying the brain as a scientist, but also through experiencing a stroke, Dr. Jill's inspirational understanding of how a human brain works in respect to how we perceive reality is crucial to Humanity at this pivotal time. The related thoughts in her book will be fundamental concepts used in Stage Transformation in the Know Thyself Initiative.
Dr. Jill’s insights are epitomized in her inspired words in both the YouTube video and her first interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In the video she asks: “So who are we? We are the life force power of the universe, with manual dexterity and two cognitive minds. And we have the power to choose, moment by moment, who and how we want to be in the world. Right here right now, I can step into the consciousness of my right hemisphere where we are -- I am -- the life force power of the universe, and the life force power of the 50 trillion beautiful molecular geniuses that make up my form. At one with all that is. Or I can choose to step into the consciousness of my left hemisphere. where I become a single individual, a solid, separate from the flow, separate from you. I am Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, intellectual, Neuroanatomist. These are the 'we' inside of me.
Which would you choose? Which do you choose? And when? I believe that the more time we spend choosing to run the deep inner peace circuitry of our right hemispheres, the more peace we will project into the world and the more peaceful our planet will be. And I thought that was an idea worth spreading.”
In her first interview with Oprah Dr. Jill related her experience during the stroke. “We are this incredible miracle of life and we’ve forgotten what we are.” She explains that it is only “a little group of cells” in the left hemisphere of the brain which says “I am separate from you. If you lose that group of cells then you have no perception that you’re separate.” This is emphasized when Oprah reads an excerpt from Dr. Jill’s book which says that genetically we differ from one another by less than 100th of 1%. To this Dr. Jill laments, “We are brothers and sisters. We have this level of hostility which focuses on our differences instead of our similarities.” ... -Dr. Jill-
